Symposium on Photonics for Future Technologies

by Menelaos K. Poutous and Tino Hofmann (UNC Charlotte)

As part of the 16th International Conference HONET-ICT 2019, the Photonics for Future Technologies Symposium will include Research & Development of Photonics spanning across fields and applications, presenting contributions of Photonics in Optical Science and Technology.

The Symposium topics include:
1- Photonic devices and components for current & future applications.
2- Analysis, Design, Fabrication and, Testing of Photonics.
3- Computational methods and Photonics Simulations.
4- Unconventional, evolutionary and, disruptive Optics using Photonics.
5- Integration of Photonics in technology platforms and systems.

Researchers are invited to submit their original work for consideration. The Symposium session will consist of 15-20 minute presentations, including Q&A, and the contributing talks will be grouped in related themes. The submissions will be reviewed using IEEE criteria, and if accepted will be indexed on the IEEE Xplore Digital Library, as part of the conference proceedings. The Symposium submissions will adhere to the “short-paper” IEEE format, consisting of 2-3 pages. IEEE template is available through the HONET webpage. Authors are strongly encouraged to submit as soon as possible, to facilitate the reviewing process and to reserve an oral presentation slot within the session. In case of an overwhelming volume of submissions, poster presentations will be considered.

Graduate students are especially encouraged to submit short papers and present aspects of their work. Student-Chapter members of IEEE, SPIE and OSA, will be able to register for the conference at $150. All presenters are required to register and submit through the main HONET portal. Multiple author papers are required to have the presenter registered at a minimum.
